One of my favorite parts of living in Berkeley for years was visiting several of the homes and public buildings designed by
California's first female architect -
Julia Morgan.

Many Sausalitans have enjoyed countless times of fun at places, lectures and other gatherings in the lovely clubhouse she designed for
our legendary women's club.
Now the club is sponsoring a
talk by architectural historian, John Mark Wilson, the author of
Julia Morgan: Architect of Beauty, on October 22nd at 7:00 pm. Just $10. He is showing slides. I hope some include Hearst Castle.

Also take a look at
Sara Holmes Boutelle's book,
Julia Morgan, Architect and
Ginger Wadsworth's Julia Morgan,
Architect of Dreams.
